A Story of Strength, Determination and Care
My name is Victoria Faith. I was born with lipomeningocele spina bifida, hip dysplasia, femoral anteversion, 1 inch right tibia discrepancy, and severe bilateral clubfeet.
I was adopted from China when I was seven. I had a rather rough childhood in China, but God is so good, and He had a plan. He sent two courageous and determined parents to get me out of the orphanage, and they have done everything they could to get me the help I needed including flying and driving long distances. Nothing was too much for them.
I had hip dysplasia in which my left hip popped in and out, and it would make me fall down all the time. I was treated for some of my conditions and deformities in my home state; however, in Jan. 2020, we went to Paley Institute to meet Dr. David Feldman, and he was on top of my treatment plans. We got imaging, and he gathered a plan to help me.
In June 2020, I went to West Palm Beach for four orthopedic surgeries. The first surgery was a hip surgery- triple periacetabular osteotomy. Two weeks later, I had surgery to fix my femur anteversion. Two more surgeries over the course of the next month were done to fix my clubfeet and curly toes. I was in West Palm Beach for three months during Covid-19 for all my treatments, and I couldn’t have been more productive, thanks to Dr. Feldman and his team.
In 2023, Dr. Feldman further corrected my left foot, which allowed me to climb stairs more easily. In May 2025, I had 1 inch limb lengthening for the right tibia. Recovery was intense, but it was worth it, because now I am even on both sides, and I don’t feel lopsided.
In April 2026, Dr. Feldman removed the PRECICE nail from the limb lengthening surgery and replaced it with a permanent rod. With over 17+ orthopedic surgeries, my parents’ only regret is that they wish they would have started my orthopedic treatment at Paley Institute instead of receiving treatment in my home state, as it would have been less surgeries and been more effective.
Dr. Feldman has treated me from my hips to my toes. I am beyond grateful for all that he has done, and the wisdom, revelation, and power God gives to him and his team. I have been blessed to have the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and PT here at Paley Institute. It is nothing short of a miracle, and it is a testimony of how much Jesus loves and cares for me.
As bad as I had it in China, that is how good it became with the love and support from my Mom, Dad, and my two sisters- Katelin and Sarah, who have been so supportive and understanding through it all, the Paley Institute- Dr. Feldman and his team. I hope they all know how grateful I am to have them in my life. They’ve helped me become my best self.
