Many of the patients that we treat at the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute have been adopted, domestically or internationally, and are living with various orthopedic conditions.

Whether you have adopted or are considering adopting a child with orthopedic special needs, our team is dedicated to helping you on your journey. We understand that the adoption process can be long and involved, and both Dr. Feldman and Dr. Huser are available to review a file for a child that you have committed to bringing home. We can help you understand what the included information means, what the child’s needs are, and help you begin the planning stages for treatment. Many times these files come to us incomplete, so if possible, please include with the file, any pictures or videos that will help us further assess the child.

Our practice has numerous families that have walked this road of adoption and can offer support along the journey. Mia Johnson, our Family Liaison, can connect you with other families in the practice that have children with various special needs, allowing you to become more informed so that when you bring your child home, you are not only better equipped to meet your child’s physical needs, but also the emotional needs of the family.

Congratulations on this exciting journey!
